Creative Vision
Behind Waves

The beauty of Waves lies in its versatility, and I wanted this production to capture exactly that. A watch designed to move with you, from days by the water to everyday life in the city. The flowing dial brings this idea to life, creating depth and motion as it catches the light differently throughout the day.

Waves Watches: A Danish Dive Watch by Magnus Jørgensen

The Waves collection brings Nordgreen's Danish design philosophy into the dive watch — a category traditionally built for function, here reimagined with the restraint and craft of Scandinavian minimalism. Designed by Magnus Jørgensen and shaped by the waters surrounding Denmark's coastline, Waves carries a textured wave-pattern dial that catches the light like the surface of the sea. Sized at a versatile 40 mm, the collection is built to move between the open water, the working week, and the quiet hours in between.

Available in two case finishes — brushed 316L stainless steel and 316L stainless steel in a black finish — Waves offers five distinct dial colourways: black, white, ocean blue, turquoise, and a sun-warmed yellow. Each variant can be paired with a 3-link bracelet, a silicone strap, or a leather strap, all interchangeable through quick-release spring bars. The result is a dive watch that adapts to your day — formal, casual, or all the way underwater.

What Makes Waves Watches Special

Waves distinguishes itself through a careful balance of dive watch heritage and Scandinavian restraint. The textured wave-pattern dial creates a sense of depth that shifts throughout the day — a subtle, living detail that rewards a closer look. Polished, lume-filled indices (Swiss Super-LumiNova GL C1) and a leaf-shaped second hand keep the time easy to read above and below the surface, while the unidirectional rotating bezel turns with purpose for tracking elapsed time underwater.

Crafted in brushed 316L stainless steel — a marine-grade alloy chosen for strength and corrosion resistance — Waves is sealed to 10 ATM (100 m) of water resistance and protected by a flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating. On the turquoise and yellow dial variants, the bezel carries small coloured epoxy dots at every five-minute mark, a quiet detail that links bezel and dial. Inside, a reliable Japanese movement keeps time accurate to within seconds a month, with a battery life of around 2–3 years.

Scandinavian Design at Sea Level

Waves represents Nordgreen's broader commitment to Scandinavian design — function and longevity placed above fleeting trends. Where the dive watch genre often leans into bulk and tool-watch grit, Waves takes the opposite path: precise lines, considered proportions, and details refined enough to wear with anything. Sustainable materials and ethical production are woven into every Nordgreen timepiece, making Waves a piece of conscious luxury that respects both wearer and the waters that shaped it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is the Waves dive watch?

Waves comes in a single 40 mm case size, designed to balance dive watch presence with everyday wearability. The 20 mm lug width is shared across the Nordgreen range, so straps can be swapped between collections.

How water resistant is the Waves watch?

Waves is rated to 10 ATM (100 m) of water resistance, suitable for swimming, snorkelling, and shallow diving. We recommend having the gaskets checked at every battery service to maintain the seal.

Are Waves watch straps interchangeable?

Yes — all Waves variants feature quick-release spring bars that allow you to swap straps in seconds without tools. Choose from 3-link bracelets, silicone, and leather to match the day.

Who designed the Waves collection?

The Waves collection was designed by Magnus Jørgensen. Drawing on the waters surrounding Denmark's coastline and the discipline of Scandinavian design, his approach pairs architectural precision with organic, tactile detail — most clearly seen in the wave-pattern dial and the considered balance between bezel, case, and indices.

What movement does the Waves watch use?

Waves is fitted with a reliable Japanese movement (calibre 2315-6H) — accurate to within a few seconds per month, with a battery life of around 2–3 years. Any watchmaker can service the battery in minutes.

Does Nordgreen offer a warranty on Waves watches?

Yes — Nordgreen provides warranty coverage on all Waves watches. For complete details about warranty terms, coverage period, and what's included, please visit our warranty information page. You can also review our shipping and returns policy.
